How it all started...
‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21
By the sovereign providence of the Lord, a small group of believers was brought together in the midst of a shared time of trial in 2023. While their individual experiences were unique, there was a unity in enduring these trials together. With a genuine desire to seek the will of the Lord during this time, these families began to gather together for weekly worship, fellowship, and prayer as they processed their shared experiences. Over the course of time, the Lord continued to add to their numbers as more believers were brought into these weekly gatherings. They began to reflect more deeply on several key things: What should it look like to love the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind? How do we take the truths of Scripture and apply them in every area of life? How do we really “one-another,” as Jesus commanded, practically in our daily life? What is the true nature and purpose of the church?
After an intentional seven-week period of fasting, prayer, study, and meeting together, the Lord pressed upon the hearts of these families a calling to begin something new. Although the details were very unclear at first, there was no question that God had intentionally brought each of the founding members together for a plan He had set in motion many years before. With that shared conviction, these families committed to stepping out in faith in whatever direction the Lord would lead, trusting Him with the results. What began as an informal gathering of the saints in a local living room thus grew into Woodbridge Bible Church.

Expanding the vision...
From its inception, Woodbridge Bible Church has been blessed by God with a diversity of gifts for the building up of the body. He brought a retired Pastor and his wife, with decades of service to the local church and ongoing work to build up the global church through a teaching role with Training Leaders International. He brought an attorney, his wife, and their five children, with experience leading in Men’s and Women’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Deacon Ministry, and Worship Ministry. He brought a firefighter, his wife, and their three children, with service and leadership experience in Youth Ministry, Worship Ministry, and Classical Conversations Homeschool Co-op. He brought a professional young woman with administrative experience and passion for caring for young children and serving the local body. He brought an Army officer, his wife and their three children with experience in Children’s Ministry and a commitment to intentional discipleship.
Although none of these families had set out to plant a church, the Lord brought together their unique experiences and gifts for the “building up” of His body under a unified vision: to bring glory to God through growing in the Word, sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, engaging in committed discipleship and fellowship, and seeking the welfare of the community into which God placed the church.

Where we are headed...
Psalm 127 reminds us that “unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
It is our firm belief that WBC was planted directly by the LORD in the hearts of specific believers from varying walks of life, so that no one person could lay claim to its foundation. We labor on together for the Lord, and not man, trusting that His house will be built by faith, in His time, on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, who is the cornerstone. Through the faithful proclamation of the Gospel, we believe that God will continue to add living stones to build up His house - the church, which includes this local representation, Woodbridge Bible Church.
